PROFESSIONAL AND GRADUATE EDUCATION
Students in graduate and post-baccalaureate professional programs now number approximately 7,000; we support them by offering workshops and seminars that help them succeed academically and develop skills for the 21st century workforce: entrepreneurial thinking, writing and communications skills, business etiquette, teamwork.
Whether they come from our own backyard or from across the country or oceans, they are welcomed into a caring, inclusive community of learners. Faculty and staff are invested in their success and are driven by a profound imperative: to educate and inspire the next generation of thinkers, workers, and leaders for West Virginia and the world.
WVU students will take their Mountaineer values with them wherever they go.
Opportunities and Access
Education is the foundation upon which success is built. It should be available to all students who are serious about their studies and wish to pursue them. As a land-grant institution, educating first-generation students who meet our criteria for admission is part of the WVU mission. We offer, and we value, access and affordability.
We welcome West Virginians as well as students from other states and countries. A State of Minds: The Campaign for West Virginia’s University will ensure that deserving students from all walks of life have access to the transformative academic and cocurricular experience we offer. Private support will allow us to offer additional scholarships and fellowships to attract and retain talented students and to fund the programs that ultimately lead to their successful future.
